First Place Wedding Video & Best of Show GPVA Film Festival

The GPVA(Greater Philadelphia Videographers Assoc.) wrapped up 2009 with a Film Festival on December 15. Abominable Productions participated and competed among the best wedding and event videographers in the Philadelphia area. The work that was shown was outstanding and we were privileged to win Gold in both the social event and wedding categories. Oksana & Michael's Wedding Movie Trailer

Oksana & Michael were married on October 10, 2009 at St. Michael Orthodox Church in Pottsville, PA. Before heading off to the reception, they stopped at the historic Yuengling Mansion for photos. This was the former home of the Yuengling family and now is the site of the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts. Their reception at the Ramada was filled with dancing and fun Russian traditions. Lehigh Valley Bridal Show ~ November 15

Elegant Lehigh Valley Weddings & Special Events will be hosting their yearly bridal show on Sunday, November 15, 2009. Lisa & Mark's Wedding Trailer

Lisa & Mark were married on September 26, 2009 in Honey Brook, PA. Lisa wore a stunning vintage wedding gown. After the ceremony, the bridal sported matching pink and brown Chuck Taylor sneakers which was appropriate for the action packed reception at the Brandywine Manor House. During dinner the guests were entertained by some outstanding karaoke. Meanwhile Lisa changed into a white cocktail dress to prepare for a special surprise. Lisa & Mark surprised their guests with an awesome hip hop dance. This really was a great way to kick off the party, which continued with more dancing, karaoke, and a photo booth. Abominable Productions Wins Gold at WEVA International

On September 14 Abominable Productions traveled to Orlando, FL to attend the 19th Annual Wedding & Event Videographers Association annual convention. Kicking off the week was the WEVA International 19th Annual Creative Excellence Awards Competition. We were honored to win a Gold Creative Excellence Award (CEA) in the Theatrical/Stage Category. "Each year, WEVA invites all professional videographers to enter their finest work in our industry’s most prestigious awards competition," said WEVA Chairman Roy Chapman. The Creative Excellence Awards, "represents the highest honor in production achievement in our industry." This was our second year attending WEVA, last year we were awarded with a CEA finalist award in the Theatrical category. In addition to the awards gala, we attended three days of jammed packed seminars on everything from shooting and editing to marketing. We also had a chance to see the latest technology and trends at the WEVA trade show. This year's WEVA Expo was inspiring and lots of fun and we can't wait till next year's 20th WEVA Expo.

Abominable Productions been selected to join ELVWSE

Abominable Productions has been selected to join the Elegant Lehigh Valley Weddings & Special Events (ELVWSE) group. This is an invitation only group and we are very excited to be apart of it. ELVWSE is comprised of a select group of Lehigh Valley wedding vendors, with a goal of providing exceptional service in the wedding and event industry. This group goes beyond just a wedding planning website. The members network at quarterly meeting to share ideas and keep on top of the latest wedding trends. ELVWSE will be hosting a bridal show in November in which the ELVWSE members will be featured. Details coming soon.

Sara and Andrew had their ceremony and reception at the very unique and charming Flying W Airport in Medford NJ. The rain held off just enough for them to have a beautiful ceremony. The party and dancing continued well into the night with music from Spencer 4 Hire Entertainment. This was a fun wedding party and it shows in the video. Here is just a teaser of their wedding day. Wedgab is a social networking site for engaged couples and wedding professionals. Find information on weddings, bridal shows, associations, and marketing.

Jim Wins Second Place in GPVA's 2009 Battle of the Editors

Fourteen talented editors from the greater Philadelphia area participated in the GPVA's (Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association) 2009 Battle Of The Editors. The competitors had one month, one hour of the same footage and complete artistic freedom to create a three and a half minute video. On April 21st at the GPVA's monthly meeting, the entries were viewed. All the entries were very creative and showcased the talent of the GPVA members. The members voted and Jim was honored to receive second place.
